One Last Chincoteague post

With my upcoming ankle surgery we didn’t get to walk nearly as much as we would have liked, but I wasn’t about to leave without a good walk on the beach! The soft sand was a challenge, but once I got down onto the packed sand near the water I did ok.

My favorite walking partner

I wanted to keep walking to a distant point on the island away from the people and it paid off because we got to see this beautiful Eastern Hognose snake exiting the water

I’ve seen a Hognose before but not with this coloration! The park ranger said it ranked up there with one of the most beautiful he has ever seen.

A few more miscellaneous shots

The lighthouse has been sand blasted and repainted and it looks beautiful!
