Forest Fires

When you turn onto our road you immediately go up a small hill before the road goes back down into our little neighborhood.

On the way home yesterday I stopped at the top of that hill and snapped this photo of the forest fire burning on the nearby mountain.

When I was out watering yesterday evening the smell of the smoke  was thick in the air.

There is no danger to us  but it is still disconcerting to see and smell the fire. So far there have been no homes destroyed. (except of course the homes of many forest creatures) My heart really hurts for the folks and animals in Colorado Springs.

Please pray for rain and for all of the wonderful people who are out there in this miserable heat having to fight these fires.

These dry seasons are very scary. My husband’s family lives in Colorado Springs. They haven’t been evacuated yet but are on alert. Hope the fires in your area are under control soon!

    Yikes! They are close enough!

Yes, indeed! Are the fires on the mountain under control?
