Sunday Stroll… Make that Sunday Hike
January 13, 2013Mr. C and I set out on one of the National Forest trails this morning. It was a nice workout.
This particular trail goes right through the area where one of last summers forest fires burned.
This was just a small area of the burn.
It’s amazing to see the mountain laurel springing back to life from the charred ground.
We’ve been collecting acorns for Pudge on our walks through the state park… we should have come here sooner… they are everywhere and they are HUGE!
Capri D suggested that I do a photo series of the stone walls of Virginia, here’s the first one…
There were many rocks that I covet for the garden along this trail!
By the time we got to the top Mr. C was grumpy!
(not really, but he WAS tired)
Sometimes he looks so much like his Dad it’s startling!
