Another Stroll on the Hawksbill Creek Greenway

November 7, 2011

Mr. C and I went back to Luray yesterday to walk on the wonderful Hawksbill Creek Greenway again.

The baby calf I wrote about previously is doing well and was curled up sleeping in the shade.

I love this ‘panda-bear’ calf that was right up near the fence

I wish I could catch a glimpse of the beaver that did this! It was an old chew though, so I’m sure he’s long gone.

We DID see a mink on the bank but he was far to quick to be photographed!

We also visited Lake Arrowhead Park in Luray. It’s a man-made reservoir right near the base of the mountains.

Still some fall color to enjoy

Clearly we’ll have to come back and walk on these trails… maybe next week

On the way home we drove a few back roads and found Casey Lee’s homestead!
