Another Stroll on the Hawksbill Creek Greenway
November 7, 2011Mr. C and I went back to Luray yesterday to walk on the wonderful Hawksbill Creek Greenway again.
The baby calf I wrote about previously is doing well and was curled up sleeping in the shade.
I love this ‘panda-bear’ calf that was right up near the fence
I wish I could catch a glimpse of the beaver that did this! It was an old chew though, so I’m sure he’s long gone.
We DID see a mink on the bank but he was far to quick to be photographed!
We also visited Lake Arrowhead Park in Luray. It’s a man-made reservoir right near the base of the mountains.
It is fed by this wonderfully clear mountain stream
I saw the biggest poison ivy vine ever
Still some fall color to enjoy
Clearly we’ll have to come back and walk on these trails… maybe next week
On the way home we drove a few back roads and found Casey Lee’s homestead!
And I love this two-headed creature I caught on film!
It was a wonderful Sunday!
What a beautimous day for a hike! Loverly scenery.
Don’t let Patt anywhere NEAR that poison ivy!!!!!
That is purty clear water!
What a bright clear day! Love the photos, and your timing to catch that two headed deer!
Can’t wait to walk those trails with you!
You surely have some beautiful countryside out there. Someday, we’re going to get over that way and see it for ourselves.
[...] Yesterday, Mr.C. and I returned to Lake Arrowhead to check out the nature trails there. I mentioned them in this post. [...]
