Stalker!

September 10, 2009

He hangs around, under the cover of the drooping Japanese Maple, just waiting for his chance to grab his next victim…

I guess that explains why so many frogs have moved over to Paddy’s pond!
I’ve tried to catch him a couple of times but he’s a smart one, he stays right on top of the rocks of the waterfall where he can quickly slide under cover.

Meanwhile, the Porcelain Vine is really full of beautiful berries this year.

It’s been parched here on The Hill again. There is a chance of rain tonight so I’m praying! The gardens are really looking crispy. Things will need to be cut back extra early this season.

  2. Oh YUCK!!! What kind is THAT???

That vine is beautimous. The climber you have me in July is finally starting to climb. I noticed yesterday that it has little flowers on it!

Our yard is looking “crispy” as well. I am done with it. Too much yellow.

  4. Just a common garter snake… a good size one for sure!

  5. Awesome berries! That snake is a good guy…

  6. Nice snake, unless you’re a frog. At least you don’t have herons eating all your fish too.
